Definition of Open Neutral & Open Ground

Previous Next
What does it mean when you have an open neutral or open ground?
Previous Next
An open ground or neutral simply means that there is either a loose wire in one boxes or connected to the outlet. If there is not a ground wire affixed to the outlet it will read open ground. Look into the box after you turn off the circuit and verify the connections that are wire nutted together and that are affixed to the outlet it self.
